Day two… still moving
Day two of my Thanksgiving weekend was a success as I hit the gym hard again today with cardio, weights, and another spin class! Maybe it’s the motivation of having the bridesmaids dresses picked out and how desperately I want to have my dress altered. I ordered the recommended size, but it was quite humbling.
My other motivation as I was daydreaming in spin was the thought of losing 20 pounds by my birthday in January. It may be a little too ambitious, but worth a shot anyway. That would mean being 161 pounds by the end of January. Fingers are crossed! Today’s weight: 181.
Post Thanksgiving Drill

It’s that time again. Time to push through the food coma and get my butt back to the gym. My Thanksgiving was absolutely wonderful and so good to spend time with my family. Janie’s wedding is quickly approaching in May, so now is the time to get serious about losing weight. Above you will see a picture of my gorgeous cousin on the left and I am the fat-ass on the right. I love this picture because I don’t have too many family pictures and because this is my new motivation. If I am going to slim down and not look like a blimp in a parade for Janie’s wedding, I need to work hard. I woke up this morning and went to spin class instead of joining friends for a breakfast date. I feel great! Let’s see if I can do the same for tomorrow! Thanksgiving weekend: 183 lbs.
Feeling A Little Chicken
So I haven’t been posting because I haven’t had any success at the gym. I have been faithful to my gym by going every day, but no change to the scale until today. I am back under 180! Molly swears that I won’t see improvement for awhile, but considering I am the most impatient person in the world that isn’t good enough. I have changed my weight routine and slaved away on different cardio machines without any real difference to my food baby. At least today brought a smile to my plump, round face when the scale read 179 lbs. I quickly jumped off in case it was a fluke and the number jumped up to how I felt. I’ll call it a success and tackle tomorrow. Labor Day doesn’t apply to me, but I will commit to working out when I get done with my route. Cross your fingers that I don’t get flung off the treadmill as I attempt another 45 minute run! Day 10: 179 lbs
Gym time, hangovers, and more gym time!
Friday’s workout was amazing. Perhaps too amazing because I rewarded myself with a whole bottle of wine and baked mac and cheese. Oops! In my defense, though, it tasted wonderful and the headache the next day was almost worth it! I drank an entire bottle of Rockus Bockus, a cabernet and malbec blend. Let me just say, YUM! I retreated to the mountains the next day to hang out with family and the doggies and returned with determination. I headed right back to the gym and had an incredible workout with the treadmill and free weights. Just the right amount of fatigue to really make me feel like it was time well spent. I have a new motivation as well. The Great Pumpkin race is October 24th so I need to fall in love again with the treadmill and running outdoors. Day 3: 181 lbs.
My Quest To Shed
I’ve started this blog to focus my energy in my quest to lose 40 pounds. Janie’s wedding is in May and I think I can achieve my goal by then. The only thing that could (and likely will) get in my way is my affection for wine, chocolate, and cheese. I’m off to the gym. Day 1: 182 lbs.
